Batik Star Tessellation

31" x 31". So what do you get when you take the same shape and repeat it AND it fits snuggly into itself? A Tessellation. This is an absolutely easy pattern but you need a map to keep from getting lost. I've provided (2) maps; one to use as a layout to make each star and the other to combine the stars. Each star emerges as the quilt top is assembled. I would highly recommend that you assemble as you go to eliminate confusion on which star goes where. For design interest adding one simple applique shape gives the viewer a surprise. Just cut (41) 1/2" strips from at least 20 fabrics full width of fabric or cut (2) strips from a Fat Quarter; Can also use a non-batik fabric collection; 1 yard - Backing and binding fabric; 1/2 yard - Border Fabric .
