NOTE TO CUSTOMERS:
On the Go 2.0 is an update of On the Go which was released in 2012. Just like a new edition of a textbook, this new version of the pattern features improved design and layout, easier-to-follow steps and diagrams, and our newest and best techniques. Specific changes include:
- Tweaked the size, making the bag deeper: More room for all your essentials!
- Changed the strap size and how it is attached: Now you can carry it more securely and comfortably!
- Substituted sew-in magnets for the hook & loop closure: Looks and works so much better!
- Eliminated some pockets and changed a number of construction techniques: This new version is easier to make and yields a more professional finish!
We have also filmed an Add-On Video for the project to help you make the cases. Since the On the Go 2.0 pattern includes a coupon to get the Add-On Video at no charge, we would recommend that you and your customers purchase the new and improved version of the pattern.
CLASS INFO:
On the Go 2.0 makes a great class for all levels of sewists, from confident beginners to more advanced makers. Due to its small size, final assembly takes a bit of dexterity, so remind students to take their time and go slowly in bulky areas.
We'd suggest two half-day to full-day classes for this project.
In the first class, students can work on steps II through IV, preparing the components of the bag. Anything not finished in class can be assigned as homework to complete before the next class.
In the second class, students will work on steps V through IX , assembling the flap, the zipper loop, the bag front and back, and completing assembly of the project.
We recommend that students read the pattern and watch the Add-on Video and any videos referred to in the pattern before coming to class.
To make best use of class time, we also recommend that students come to class with everything cut out and labeled for their project and that they complete the basic steps to cut and quilt the fabrics for the project.
So, they should complete all of step I. Cut and Quilt on pages 2 and 3 BEFORE coming to class.

Add-on Video notice: There is an Add-on Video™ available for this pattern. The Add-on Video™ is specially designed to support specific parts of the pattern and help the customer learn our best techniques. It doesn't replace the pattern -- it will enhance their sewing experience.
To support local quilt shops, related paper patterns include a coupon for the value of the Add-on Video™. This is a $5.00 value. Customers can then use the coupon to get the video for free on the ByAnnie.com website.
