The Diamond Divas series celebrates great leaders throughout history. Catherine the Great, Empress of Russia, was that country's longest-ruling leader. She assumed the throne in 1762, and reigned until her death in 1796. Do you have a "great" Catherine in your life?
Inspired by a light-filled round brilliant-cut solitaire, "Catherine" measures 46 inches in diameter and finishes to a 46-inch square quilt.
Designed in 3 colorways using Moda Bella Solids: White Diamond, Champagne Diamond, and Blue Diamond. (Fabric translations are also available for Paintbrush Studio Fabrics' Painter's Palette solids and KONA solids.)
There's no need to limit yourself to only 3 colorways! I've provided guidance on how you can customize this pattern using your own unique color choices. For example, those of you who have a special wedding or anniversary celebration scheduled in 2021 could create "Catherine" in the couple's special colors. I can't wait to see all the colorful "Catherine" quilts that makers are already planning!
