Newsletter: Spring Market Finds 2016 (10 Jun 2016)

June 2016

I (Gail) had a very productive few days at quilt market and filled my trunk for the trip back to Calgary.  Our suppliers all released some great new products and then we found five and possibly more new product lines that we will be carrying as the exclusive Canadian distributor…..we are very excited by all and shops who have heard of them or found them as we  have posted them on our website have been buying them up…..we are already re-ordering some items after only a week or two in house.  If you haven’t already checked out the new items, read on!!

Abbey Lane Quilts

Great patterns and pattern booklets – and even a fab five ruler for some of the patterns.  All are easy to make and eye-catching designs…..and we love the Beatles titles for all of the pattern names.  In addition to quilt patterns, there are also carry bags,  storage bags (Beatle and Edison bags), aprons for all sizes and a great thread catcher (the Abbey bag).

Alison Glass

Alison Glass is especially recognized in the modern quilter group, but her patterns cross over nicely for traditional quilters too.  She has a mix of quilt patterns, needlework/embroidery patterns and two new dressmaking how-to books.

Eye Candy Quilts

This mother/daughter team has a great eye for design and they have introduced a new line of ‘fierce’ miniature quilts based on their full size quilt patterns.  We love everything they do; they are another team that has succeeded in creating patterns that appeal to both traditional and modern quilters.

Violet Craft

Yes, that is the actual designer’s name.  Violet is best friends with Elizabeth Hartman and equally talented.  We love her fractured animal designs – especially her new Elephant - and she has just released a new The Baby Herringbone Quilt pattern as a spinoff of her hugely popular The Broken Herringbone Quilt pattern.  The new fractured mountain scene coming soon is also sure to be a huge hit!

Quilt Dots

Quilt Dots are great little magnets that can be fridge or machine magnets with quilty designs and sayings and they also fit onto needle nannies, bookmarks, bracelets, necklaces, etc.  Studio 180 Design will have their own grouping of Quilt Dots and we will be designing some special Canadian-themed quilt dots of our own that will include a special one for Canada’s  Sesquicentennial in 2017

And more…..   We are working on a few more….stay tuned!!

New patterns Grand Illusion and Starget are also worth a second look – great fall/winter classes!  There are also some new Modern 180 patterns in the wings.
